Something is corrupting their stories, altering the very text of their existence.
Start your quest to aid the creatures, uncover the truth, and hold back the dark forces from beyond. Embark on a single quest or become a legendary hero and tackle all three stories! All quests can be completed throughout the course of the Richmond Fringe Festival April 15-17, 2023.
Prices are for one player per quest.
You must have a FRINGE ENTRY BUTTON to attend or be a Wizard. Bundle all 3 and don’t worry about it!

“Two Gaulier-trained clowns, Chase Brantley & Nicholas Hemerling, burst out for a night of charming yet meaningless hilarity. Originally inspired by chainsawing a watermelon, this show is a “banana”-za of fruit-based stupidity.
So expect fruit. You’ll also see smooching, heartbreak, pelvic thrusting, hot muscles and beautiful dancing. If you want something intelligent, we will… try our best. Whatever you’re into though, this is the event to find love! That’s something we can promise.
WARNING: Surprisingly Sexy”

“In food, fat is flavor. In the animal world, it can be protection. In human cultures, fat is both beautiful and shameful. Fat bodies can be a display of wealth or the butt of the joke. Sacrament of Corpulence is a ritual performance exploring fatness: the history, the celebrations and the lies we've grown up believing. It pulls from the work of various fat liberation activists at different intersections of race, disability, poverty and gender. Cole shares their own stories of living in a queer fat body and the experiences that lead them to a place of radical love at every size, shape and condition. Music and storytelling weave their way through direct questions, playful responses, a ritual anointing and a bar of fat-forward foods. A night of pleasure and reflection, Sacrament of Corpulence is a voluptuous, multi-sensory ritual experience.”

The Squid and The Octopus, created and performed by Jim Julien, is a very intimate cephalopod adventure, a shadow puppet show (with knives!) This show uses a variety of puppetry styles and multimedia to weave a tale of multi-tentacled danger, contemporary restaurant culture and undersea lifestyles. Jim Julien is a performance artist, puppeteer and Fringe fan of many years. He has performed in the Asheville, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Chicago, PortFringe and Shenandoah Fringe festivals. His evil puppet lair is located in a dormant volcano outside of Philadelphia.

“IDENTITY is an exciting and refreshing interdisciplinary vibraphone recital examining the vibraphone's identity in the contemporary world, and my own queer Asian identity in the percussion world, combining vibraphone pieces with live electronics and video projection.
Aiming to break the audience group boundaries of contemporary music concert goers, on top of amplifying my voice to embracing one's individuality, this show is aimed for everybody. Whether you are a novice to new music, an educated audience member from the scene, or a college-level music/percussion student trying to find your voice and footing in this world, I hope you find what you are looking for from my show.
Pieces are performed back-to-back. The electronics & video component of this program is integral for an invigorating innovative concert-going experience for the audience. Pieces by Lopez Lopez, Reich, Almada, Munson, and Lauricella are scored for live interactive electronics and video projection.”

This panel will be a casual conversation between local muralists, an inside-baseball talk about process, and a chance to pin us down for audience questions. This panel will be curated and moderated by Jeannie Wermuth, an avid mural-hunter who knows more about the Richmond mural scene than any of us. She makes it her business to seek out new murals, 'catch' them, and share a few kind words and questions with the artists at work.
